V.I.S. was founded in 2000 to break new ground with global education and to take it beyond the classroom on a school-wide level.

It is a non-denominational, co-ed academic school for grades 3-8, with a charitable arm. It is also a teacher education research school and practicum site for various Faculties of Education. V.I.S fosters a strong sense of belonging and offers a rigorous academic program based on Ontario Curriculum expectations and beyond.  A strong performing and liberal arts curriculum, as well as dynamic sports options, are integral to the well-rounded (global) education model offered at V.I.S.
