Background
Voice Intermediate School Associations’ (“Voice Association”) Statement of Charitable Activities & Purposes (“the Statement”) states that the Association will award annual Bursary of Scholarship Awards. (“Student Awards”)
Bursaries are based on financial need as stated in our policy ( Bursary section, below). They are given to students in order to assist their parents in paying tuition. As they become available, scholarships will be offered to students who meet the criteria set below.
Busaries are subject to our Policy (Bursary section below) and are offered at the sole and absolute discretion of the Voice Association Board of Directors.
Busaries are given out for one year only, although past recipients will be eligible to apply again for ubsequent years. This program is advertised through community newspapers in GTA and on our school’s website.
Policy
The Voice Association will allocate up to 50% of this projected revenue from each school year for the granting of buasries and scholarships. Projected revenue depends on charitable contributions made to the Association for the coming year. All bursaries or scholarships are partial allowances. Voice Intermediate School Association does not offer full tuition grants.
Bursaries
- Bursaries will be granted on the basis of financial need. Financial need is defined as an annual household income of less than $70,000 gross per annum. Or $90,000 gross per annum, if the household has two students attending Voice Intermediate School.
- Bursaries must be supported by a statement of household income. Failure to provide required information will result in cancellation of application.
- Voice Association gives favorable consideration to bursary requests from students who currently attend Voice, or from siblings of students who currently attend Voice.
- Assuming the financial need continues, there is no limit to the number of years that an applicant can apply for a bursary, and all other things being equal, favorable consideration is given to past recipients who need a bursary to be able to continue with their studies at Voice.
- The amount of each bursary awarded to each applicant is decided by the Voice Association Executive in consultation with the School Principal. Bursaries may be of unequal amounts.
- Application for academic assistance bursaries is by way of a letter to the President of the Voice Association.
