In emphasizing geography at V.I.S., teachers ensure that students acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills that will enable them to carry out complex investigations in mapping, locations, regions, and patterns of human and physical geography. Our curriculum (based on Ontario expectations), identifies and uncovers connections within Canada and our global community. Exploration will take place through the use of text, and within a cooperative learning framework drawing from diverse perspectives that will facilitate critical and analytical thinking and research. All curricular areas are integrated into the geography program.
